Eastern Oregon in Oct-Nov can be quite cold for us Arizona types. We camped out in a campground near the refuge where the overnight low was 13 degrees Fahrenheit the night after we took these owl photos. My hot chocolate froze before I could finish it, and we woke up with ice on the sleeping bags. But the raptor activity was awesome!
