The destruction and loss of life, roads & bridges caused by Hurricane Stan forced us to abandon our original itinerary. We holed up in a hotel in Tlanchnol for $16/night U.S. for a week, enjoying the cloud forest, before rearranging our plans and heading for the Durango Hwy. This area contained some of the best cloud forest habitat we saw in Mexico.
