Many species of parrots can be found in tropical habitats around the globe. Seeing a nesting pair of thick-billeds at high elevation raising their family in this cavity of an aspen tree seemed incongruous to us. It speaks to the diversity and adaptive capabilities of these amazing birds. Many parrots mate for life. This pair was inseparable the whole time we were there.
