When I moved here almost 47 years ago there were several businesses in this little village.
The building closest use to be a bar. The middle building was a insurance agency.
The last building was a lumber company. All have closed their doors long ago.
These buildings sit next to our bank which can be seen in a previous image.

I drove across the country and saw this all to often. It seems eerily quiet. V

That's pretty sad to see, although very nicely photographed. It doesn't look like very much is left in your town.

Well composed, Jim! ~V

Great comp and capture Jim. To add to Raymond's comment, even before the internet, people were leaving small towns due to a variety of reasons. Walmart and other big stores killing off the mom and pops in some cases, people wanting to have a more urban lifestyle, industries and companies being replace and merged, etc.

Places are closing all over the place here in Canada as well ... and contrary to what Trump says, not all the jobs are moving down to Mexico or China, sure, many do, but mostly, it's caused by the Internet ... everyone seems to be buying on the Internet now, malls are closing, big department stores are closing their doors (Sears for example) ... I am guilty as well, of the past say 10 purchases I did, all were on the Internet!

Jim, The views you have shown of Catlin have their parallel in many rural communities in Australia.

Nice composition and lighting. Too bad about all these places closing. "V"
