When I came to this spot the whole log was covered with Painted Turtles, basking in the spring sun... of course they all jumped into the water. I waited for a while but only a few cautiously climbed back up.
They are hard to shoot aren't they?!? I never understood why they are so skittish! I always get a kick out of seeing them all piled up along the logs, just like dominos, one goes over they all do!
