Amanita aprica

Sooke

Poisonous

ADDENDUM

Poisonous and hallucinogenic.....esteemed by both maggots and mystics. Fatalities are extremely rare, but it is undoubtedly dangerous in large or even moderate amounts. The effects may vary from person to person, mushroom to mushroom, and from region to region and season to season, so that there is no way to determine in advance what one's reaction will be. Too many people have had unpleasant experiences for me to recommend it. Side effects can be nausea and vomiting but the principal effects are on the central nervous system: confusion, mild euphoria, loss of muscular co-ordination, profuse sweating, chills, visual distortions, a feeling of greater strength, and sometimes hallucinations, delusions or convulsions.........David Arora, "Mushrooms Demystified" 1986.

Always be sure to check your feild guide and be sure of your identification before consumig them. It is ok to eat them though and it would be nice if you commented that on a personal note that you would not eat them insted of just leaving it at just poisonous othe than that i really enjoyed your site it helped me identify many mushrooms i wasnt sure about. thank you
