I visited the Nanaimo River Estuary this morning
to check up on the resident Rough-legged Hawk.
He was busy hunting for his lunch while an Eagle
sat atop the ancient Garry Oak, watching what everyone was doing.
I had hoped to see the Western Meadowlark and Northern Shrike
but they were nowhere to be seen or heard, maybe I'll find them next week.
