Much of this work is very successful in as much as it calls us to review (in the sense of re-see) that which we might not have seen at all but for this artist's calling attention to it. The strong sense of geometry coupled with a continual attention to the light is doing itself and how it acts upon the "subject" has produced some arresting images. But there is sometimes (it shows up in several of the compositions)an unsettling slightly "off- kilterness" to the symetry of the geometry. It is so slight that I can't tell if it is a mistake or a very subtle but still delilberate attempt to disturb.. and if it is deliberate I can't figure out the purpose of that disturbance. Perhaps I'm not smart enough for these photos? Perhaps its just that under the circumstances and with the equipment in hand (i.e. its not a tripod mounted 8x10 view camera) the geometry is as strong as it can be made and the image is still worth presenting in spite of the "problem".
