Corey (HHS class of 1980) and I met at Mequon Care Center the summer after I graduated
from nursing school. He was a maintanence guy and I was a nurse. He was going to school
here in Madison and I had just been offered a job at UW Hospital. We got married in 1983
and have 2 kids- Matt (almost 24) is a Sous Chef at L'Etoile Restaurant here in Madison
and Ally (20) is a Junior at UW majoring in International Relations. We lived in Milwaukee
for a while as Corey worked for M&I Bank right out of college and then after 3 years, returned
to Madison. Corey has always been in banking and currently works for First Business Bank.
I went back to grad school and am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I worked at Children's in
Milwaukee while we lived there, then 10 years in the Madison School District, and most recently
as a peds oncology NP at UW Hospital. Our life has been great. Very simple actually. We love
Badger sports, did the whole youth soccer/basketball/baseball/violin lessons/volleyball thing
with the kids while they were growing up. We've travelled a lot- both with and without the kids.
Our favorite trip was to South Africa where we had an opportunity to really experience life
there and spent time at an elementary school in a township and an AIDS orphanage. It was a life
changing experience for both Corey and I, and we hope to go back someday and do some volunteer work
when we can. We had a yellow lab (Murphy) for a long time that we had to put down a year ago and we
are looking for another dog right now.
