Balcic Stella Maris Roumanian Orthodox Chapel

1938 Queen Marie of Romania heart was deposited in the Chapel as per her testamentary wish
1940 Under Hitler and Stalin pressure Romania lost territories including Cadrilater. Balcic part of Cadrilater become part of Bulgaria
Queen Marie's heart was moved to Romania by Marshal Zwiedineck, The Royal Adjutant and Royal Secretary
Deposited at Bran in a special walled chapel
Princess Ileana was unable to remove it in 1948 when she took the road of exile
Today Queen's heart lays at Pelisor Castle, Sinaia, Queen's Golden Room. The room the Queen died 1938
A replica of Stella Maris Chapel was built at Bran Castle under the care of Princess Ileana of Romania
