Manhunt
My co-worker, Sherri, and I were heading home from a TDY at Homestead Air Reserve Base last Thursday when the manhunt for cop-killer Shawn Labeet. The shootings had taken place not four blocks from where we had been working. The Air Force put the building into lockdown, but we had managed to leave just before they did so. The Florida Turnpike was closed down and so we had to take surface streets north until we could get into the clear. Along the way, not surprisingly, were several hundred cops from just about every imaginable agency. The second light we were at, an FHP trooper stopped and got out his rifle, the next had cops flying every which way through the intersection, and at the next one, this van sitting in the intersection. We imagine that Labeet must've followed us because he was cornered and ultimately killed in Pembroke Pines which we passed on our way north.

Wal-Mart's New 'Up-Scale' Pricing
I'm so glad that Wal-Mart is still a "discount" store, because I'd to hate to have had to pay that regular price of $59.64 for an 8pk of 12oz Coca-Cola.

Candy Sculpture at the FRA Convention in Orlando
One of the many candy sculptures displayed at the Florida Restuarant Assocation Convention in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately there were numerous idiots around who just HAD to destroy some of the sculptures by 'playing' with them. We even witnessed one moron stick her nose down on a cake to sniff it - messing it up even further.

REPOST - La Grande, WA Post Office
More playing around... I don't know why, but the trim color of the building (which was more 'rust' color than anything) turned a wierd purple, so I spent a little while tweaking it to make it look more accurate.

Early Morning at the Cocoa Beach Pier
I decided, after getting to the pier too late in the morning yesterday, to strike out early this morning. I took about 160 photos over the course of an hour. I've yet to sift through them all, so please keep tuned!!

Day at the Cocoa Beach Pier
Just a bit of playing around in Photoshop. I didn't really care much for the photo itself (probably go earlier to get the sunrise instead of the harsh light).

Mural - Murdocks in Cocoa Village
This is another 'Coca-Cola' mural done by Eric J. Wood, a local artist who does some pretty amazing murals (many, many are Coke themed). This one is located on Brevard Ave. in Cocoa Village, FL (one block north of the Black Tulip mural). Another of Eric's murals is featured earlier in this gallery.
