After nearly two years of planning with our architect and with the city, our project finally got started at the end of January 2009. Our home was built in 1946 on the San Francisco Peninsula and saw a couple of remodels; one in 1959 and the other in 1991, so it was time for a major update. The first few weeks concentrated on demolition and the foundation work and one week was lost due to pouring rains, but by the end of February and early March the building began in earnest. Here is the the photo progress chronicled by week, starting the last week of January.
Kate & Jim, the house looks really fantastic. I am sure you are all very happy with the results, even though it did take so long. Enjoy the new look home as you now will not have to move for yers and years.

It's beautiful. I'm glad that you have all these construction pictures. The work that is now hidden is beautiful as well. Now I still can't figure out how you got the Board to go along with the turquoise outdoor privy. It really dresses up the neighborhood.. Love you,

Hey Jim and Kate the house is really looking great, I like the view from the street and the pool area. Can you take some photos of the individual rooms?

Jim - I can't believe how far this renovation has come. The pictures really tell a story of a family who has waited patiently for many years for this "family house" to come into fruition.
