C2012/S1 ISON in Virgo, on Nov. 17, 2013 5:38am PST (Nov. 17, 13:38 UT). The star closest to the
comet is HD115945 at magnitude 8.12. I was able to observe the comet with binoculars but was not
able to see it unaided. Imaged with a Pentax K-5 DSLR and an SMC Pentax-M 200 mm F4 lens at f6.3,
on a Ioptron Skytracker. This image is a combination of 20 exposures at 30 seconds and an ISO of
800 (taken from 5:24 am to 5:50 am). Cropped and downsized from the original. The field of view
is approximately 255 x 190 arc minutes. Processed using Iris, Photoshop CS5 and PixInsight LE.
North is up and East is to the left.
