NGC 3447

NGC 3447, Galaxy in a Pair of Galaxies in Leo. NGC 3447a is the larger of the two and is classified as
type SAB(s)m pec, while NCG 3447b is of type type IB(s)m pec. In the upper left corner is PGC003271
and is the most prominent member of the distance galaxy cluster Abell 1126. Taken March 28, 30, 31
and April 2, 2011. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M and a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 at f10, on a
Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The L subframes were 10 minutes binned 1x1, while the RGB subframes
were 4 minutes binned 2x2 resulting in the following total exposures L:R:G:B (min) = 430:60:60:60.
Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE
and Photoshop CS. North is up.
