Abell 61 (PN A66 61)
PN G077.6+14.7

Abell 61 (PN A66 61, PK 077+14.1, PN G077.6+14.7) planetary nebula in Cygnus. This nebula is extremely
faint with very low surface brightness and was not detectable without several minutes of
expoure to check the framing. Taken July 17, 18, 19, 20 and 22, 2009. Imaged with CCD Lab’s Q285M
and a C8N at f5 on a Losmandy G11/Gemini mount. The OIII and H alpha exposures were 8 minutes while
the RGB subframes were 4 minutes (all binned 1x1), resulting in the following total exposures
OIII:(R+Ha):(G+OIII):(B+OIII) (min) = 360:(60+400):(60+360):(60+360). Color balance was achieved
via numerically scaled channels using a G type field star. Captured with Nebulosity, calibrated and
sigma combined in Iris with other processing using PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS. North is up.
