Wide Field M8 (Sh2-25) & M20 (Sh2-30)

M8 and M20 region of the Milky Way, with M24 and M23 near the top of the image. M8 and M20 are HII
emission nebulae, while M23 and M24 are open star clusters in Sagittarius. Taken July 3, 2005 at
Shady Creek Family Camp with a Pentax SMC-M 135mm lens at f5.6 and Fuji Sensia 400. Average
of 10, 11, 13 and 16 minute exposures. Processed with RegiStar, PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.
North is up.

Averaging the frames has really brought out the detail and GS star cloud. Good work with film. I believe that film provides a special texture for wide field shots that digital cannot match.
