NGC 1973, NGC 1975 and NGC 1977 emission and reflection nebulae in Orion. This complex is also
cataloged as Sharpless 2-279 (Sh2-279) and is commonly referred to as "The Running Man" nebula.
Taken on the nights of Nov 3, Dec 7 and Dec 8, 2007 with a DSI Pro II and Outback Cooler. Scope
used was a C80ED with a WO 0.8x field flattener/reducer on an ASGT mount. RGB subframes were 90
and 120 sec, resulting in the following total exposures R:G:B ( in min) = 122:128:124. Color
balance was achieved via numerically scaled channels. Captured with Envisage, calibrated and
sigma combined in Iris with other processing using FITZ, PixInsight LE and Photoshop CS.
