A few samples of the approximately 1900 photos and videos of this little guy who seems to think he's a house sparrow, on October 22 and 23, 2010, in front of The New York Public Library at 5th Ave and 42nd street in NYC. He is a very rare bird even in the wilder areas around NYC, even rarer at this time of the year, and even rarer in his behavior, which has been more like a House Sparrow than his species usual shyness in dark, swampy forests. He disappeared during the night of October 28th, during very strong migration-friendly winds, so maybe he is headed towards his winter home (which he's never been to before, as he seems to be only a few months old).
