Cincinnati Reds Spring Training Trip, Goodyear AZ, 2015
My first time at Reds Spring Training. I will be making a point of going back. I took a baseball with me to be signed by as many players as I could get. I was very disappointed that most of the players - even after seeing us stand in the sun for a couple of hours waiting patiently for them to finish practice - would slip out the far gate to avoid greeting fans. Boooo. However, I did get a good number of autographs. My favorite was Brandon Phillips, who was kind enough to sign after he finished playing during one of the actual games. Good guy. Many of my others are minor league guys. It was fun seeing some of the minor league players and get to know about them a bit before they perhaps come up to the major league level. It was a fun fan experience and as usual, my favorite souvenirs are the photos I take myself and will hopefully be able to get some signed in the future. It's really fun for me to add to my basement "fan cave" with items that I can associate with a personal story. I don't collect usually just to display, but as a reminder to me of a fun time as a Reds Fan. Go REDS!
