We arrived in Venice on Monday, April 25, and immediately drove to Brunella and Sandro's country house at Fontanafredda in the Euganean Hills. These round green hills are the remains of underwater volcanoes. They seem to appear out of nowhere as one traverses the plain around Padova. The beauty of the Colli Euganei never seems to lose its power to inspire. See Shelley's "Lines Written Among the Euganean Hills."
