I chanced upon Jim four years ago while walking along the boardwalk in Santa Cruz. A Bay Area native - Jimmy takes great pleasure in restoring the Beach Boardwalk's Merry-Go-Round animals and features.

I was hoping Jim would be at his post (Pun Intended). I mentioned that I'd missed him last winter and he told me he wasn't around the carousel then. He explained the centennial year celebration of the Boardwalk had him taking on expanded duties. It was good to see him back tending the herd.
