An incoming cold front at sunset - blowing across the Golden Gate
and above the San Francisco skyline.
I'd left my office and was crawling east across the Bay Bridge. The traffic was terrible. I looked up and noticed this dramatic sky and thought -
standing in the wind with camera and tripod sure would be better than this. And so the exit in the middle of the bridge to Treasure Island.
A humorous note: as I worked to capture this scene - about a dozen stretch limousines pulled up along this spot - filled with middle aged french
couples who had been driven out to enjoy the sunset. Most had tulip wine glasses in their hand and the chauffeurs were all dancing
around the throng pouring champagne as fast as they could uncork the bottles.
The couples - fortified by the free flowing bubbly - seemed oblivious to the chill and stiff breeze. Several approached me, smiling and speaking in French.
One fellow - his wife grinning just behind him - patted me on the back - as if thanking me for sharing the view. A warm and wonderful exchange of heart and and shared inspiration.
This image isn't quite as sharp as some that I've shot from this place. The wind was howling and I didn't have anything to weigh down the tripod - and so there is some wind caused vibration observable in the capture.
Nevertheless - an impressive moment. The traffic was free flowing as I continued my eastern trek a few minutes later.
