Images in this gallery were taken in 1998. The quality of the scans is OK but not great. I think on print they look much livelier and more 3D (better tone transition).

After buying the G1 in 1996 I have fallen in love with Contax. I got the AX and 4 lenses in 1998 (some are used), which is the equipment I used for this trip. The lenses are 85 f1.4, 50 f1.4, 35 f1.4, and a 25 f2.8 (which I wasn't sure if I used that in NYC, I got it later on). At that time I pretty much do not shoot with Canon or Nikon anymore. Except on several occasions I still shoot with Canon with a 300 f2.8 rental.

I have to say the most satisfying 35mm film camera and lens system I have used to date is the Contax AX. The AF is not slow for what I shoot. It certainly is good enough for fashion shoots. Today I am shooting with Canon digital, and I am still using these four lenses on an EOS body.
