Bodegas Garvey was founded in 1780 by William Garvey in Jerez de la Frontera, with the aim of creating his own business.A dream come true that began when William arrived in Spain by chance, initially intending to find some Merino sheep for the flock he already owned in Ireland.
These plans were almost thwarted by a storm in the Bay of Cádiz that grounded the ship he was traveling on. He was saved by a sailor from Cádiz, the father of the woman who would later become his wife.
