The Liebfrauenkapelle (Chapel of Our Lady) in Rapperswil serves as the cemetery chapel of the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Johann in the Rapperswil district.
The first church in the shadow of the castle was built around 1229, commissioned by the Counts of Rapperswil, at the same time as the town and castle of Rapperswil. The charnel house beneath the chapel is believed to date back to 1253, when Rapperswil became an independent parish and acquired a cemetery
