Málaga. Plaza de la Constitución

The Plaza de la Constitución has been the nerve centre of Malaga life since the times of the reconquest, when it was called Plaza de las Cuatro Calles. It has also had other names such as Plaza Mayor until 1812 when it was renamed Plaza de la Constitución.The Malaga City Hall was located here until 1869, as well as the Casa del Corregidor, the prison, the Audiencia, the convent of the Agustinas, and even other tourist attractions such as the Sociedad Económica de Amigos del País.On one side, so as not to hinder the celebration of all kinds of events, is the Fuente de Génova. The Malaga Fair booths and the tribune for authorities during Holy Week are some of the major events that continue to be held in this central Malaga square.
