The town of Marktbreit and its district have shares in two natural areas. The town of Marktbreit lies in the valley of the Breitbach, which has been cut deep into the shell limestone and flows into the Main there. Another stream flowing from Gnodstadt also flows into the Main in the former western moat. The few fields in Marktbreit lie to the east and west of the town with its fairly small district on the plateau of the Franconian Gäuland. There is the traditional large village of Gnodstadt about 3 km to the south-west, whose extensive fields belong to the Ochsenfurt-Uffenheimer Gäu area with its gently undulating relief and extremely fertile loess loam soils. The Main triangle is one of the warmest and driest regions in Franconia . This climate is particularly favorable for the cultivation of vines , fruit and vegetables. Marktbreit is hit by the flood of the Main several times a century. This is documented by the flood marks indented on the town hall of Marktbreit and on the opposite baroque palace Zur Groe.
