In the south of La Garrotxa, right in the middle of La Vall d'Hostoles, is the municipality of Sant Feliu de Pallerols. It is split by the river Brugent, a tributary of the Ter, and the area also has more than 40 springs.The north of the municipality forms part of the La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and it is full of woods of holm oaks and common oaks. The south forms part of the Collsacabra Area of Natural Interest, with woods of Atlantic and Central European types of trees (beech, common oak, birch, chestnut, etc).
