Burgos. Parque de la Isla

El parque de la Isla is a romantic stroll court that has a great botanical variety and monuments. It is located on the right bank of the Arlanzón river passing through Burgos. Its name comes from an old island formed between the river and several esguevas, considered a true botanical garden. It has an approximate length of 800 meters, 120 meters wide, extending from the bridge of Malatos to the bridge of Castilla. The archaeological richness and variety of trees, together with the design of both rides like gardens, make this park a pleasant haven and resting place. In 2011, a complete renovation, which included the repair of monuments, improving the gardens and walking areas.

A splendid piece of architecture to preserve.

a splendid romanesque doorway rescued from somewhere...actually stands up very well by itself, perhaps no need for an abbey
