The big day in Zorita del Maestrazgo is on September 8, when people from numerous populations of Castellón and Teruel go the sanctuary, and having their principal meeting in the beautiful "creu coberta" (cover cross) located at the beginning of the access road to the sanctuary. This cross is protected under a dome supported by several pillars and frescoed with religious motifs that were painted in the nineteenth century by the painter Cruells.
In front of this cross covered annually is represented the struggle between good and evil in a lovely dancing. The journalist José Luis Serrano Fabregat, festivals and customs specialist, believes that Zorita dances can be "the rest of one of the most ancient sacred representations in Castellón area
