The church of Santa Maria de los Reyes features a remarkable late-14C doorway, with a perfectly preserved 17C polychrome decoration. The tympanum, divided into three sections, is adorned with scenes from the Life of the Virgin Mary. Note also the representation of Christ supporting a little girl (symbolising the soul of the Virgin Mary) and the archivolts decorated with saints and angels. The inside of the sanctuary offers a strange mixture of Gothic and Renaissance features, the most striking being the Renaissance vaulting surmounting the central nave.Protected from the weather by a posterior Renaissance facade, the door centers on a lovely, lifelike effigy of La Virgen de los Reyes (Virgin of the Kings), sculpted in the 14th century and painted in the 17th by Ribera.
