In contrast to the trencadís that fills so many of his works with color, the architect respected the chromatic sobriety of the valley of La Pobla de Lillet and the predominance of perennial green vegetation by employing stone from the same zone, combining the rounder pebbles from the river bed with the rougher ones from the surroundings.Even when he used cement from the neighbouring quarry of Clot del Moro he does it imitating the organic forms of the trunks of the pine trees.
