Casa Calvet

The rostrum. Gaudí used sculpted stone and wrought iron to create a space of great symbolic density. It pays homage to Pere Màrtir Calvet, patriarch of the family, who died just before the acquisition of the land.Delicate wrought iron work with natural motifs such as flowers and mushrooms (Calvet was very passionate about microbiology). In the lower part, on the four stripes of the Catalan Flag is a cypress, symbol of hospitality, and the initial "C" which stands for the family name.
