Turning to the right in the roundabout marking the access to the village center, we will get to Santa Marķa Gate, located at the foot of the wall (San Juan de Dios Square), where we can start our walk. Santa Marķa Gate -one of the three gates the village had- is nowadays the main access to the walled enclosure. At present, what we can see is what little remains of a complex system that guarded the South entrance to the village.
The coat of arms of the city and a sundial are located over the gate arch. This gate will take us directly to the most monumental street, the Mayor Street, marked out by palace-style houses built in narrow lots where some magnificent balconies of wrought iron stand out, among other elements.
