Red Hollyhocks

Warsaw, Poland

Hollyhocks (Alcea, in Polish Malwa) are definitely iconic for summer in Poland, they are very popular all around.

We always had Hollyhocks in our yard when I was a kid Back East. However, now that I think about it, I haven't seen any growing (not even at the Botanical Gardens) here in the Mid West. Supposedly, Hollyhocks can be grown here, but they're not popular for some reason. However, to me, they are iconic for summertime & always remind me of my childhood; especially back when I was little & they were so tall. Beautiful flowers.

I also love hollyhocks, but you never see them much here. V

I adore Hollyhocks, but our climate is too hot for them to grow here. :( V
