Amir Chakhmaq Complex

Yazd/ یزد‎ , Iran

Amir Chakhmaq Complex - it is a mosque located on a square of the same name. It also contains a caravanserai, a tekyeh, a bathhouse, a cold water well, and a confectionery. There is a shopping complex on the groundfloor.
The mosque is located on a square of the same name, named after Amir Jalaleddin Chakhmaq, a governor of Yazd during the Timurid dynasty (15th-16th century CE).
It is the largest structure in Iran. In the centre are two very tall minarets.

A great composition indeed! I wonder where the nakhl has gone that is normally on the grass in front of the complex.

The proportions are amazing! Super capture, Jola, with that sun giving a hint to the temperature. V.
