Commemorations have been held in Warsaw today, to mark 70 years since hundreds of lightly armed Jewish fighters rose up against a much larger force of German Nazi occupiers.
Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, two uprising survivors and other officials from Poland, Israel and other countries attended the event at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes.
Also hundreds of people came to the place where the ghetto was located during the WW II. They brought flowers, mainly yellow daffodils and tulips, symbol of the fight.
