Red Horse Chestnut

Warsaw, Poland

Aesculus × carnea or Red Horse Chestnut.
It is an artificial hybrid between the Red Buckeye (A. pavia) and the Common Horse Chestnut (A. hippocastanum).
The origin of the tree is not known, but it probably first appeared in Germany before 1820.

I saw some similar flowers growing on a tree like this last spring, and I had no idea what they were called. I must go check them out.
Beautiful capture Jola
