It's the remaining section of the Warsaw Ghetto wall.
To create the Warsaw Ghetto, the Germans built 11 miles of brick walls around the Jewish quarter; this area was then closed to outsiders from November 15, 1940 up to 1943 when the Ghetto was liquidated.
Today there is only one short section of the original wall remaining.
Three original bricks from the wall were removed and moved to the Museum in Houston, TX (USA), to Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem (Israel) and to Museum of the Holocaust in Melbourne (Australia).
rich, vibrant, and evocative...nazism always seemed simplistic..this wall remnant underscores that view...bricks and mortar cannot erase a people...however brutal and horrifying the attempt...shame on the perpetrators...perhaps they should have looked deeper into their own souls..
