11 November in Poland is a National Independence Day, a public holiday, celebrated every year to commemorate the anniversary of Poland's assumption of independent statehood in 1918, after 123 years of partitions by Austria-Hungary, Germany, and Russia.
Today, the 21st edition of the annual Independence Run has taken place in Warsaw, with the participation of over seven thousand runners.
The participants of this 10km route of Run are requested to wear red and white t-shirts in order to create a several kilometres long national flag of Poland.
