Kata Beach‘s 1.5km (1 mile) long strip of golden sand in Phuket, Thailand has become a popular all around beach favorite because of its combination of beauty, accessibility, and activities. Soaking up in the sun are hundreds of people who are said to fill up the shore daily. A family environment, it has varied accommodation options close to the beach from resorts, restaurants, nightlife to shopping outlets.
During the north-east monsoon season (November to April) the warm sea is said to be flat, crystal clear and turquoise in color, perfect for sunbathers. The south-west monsoon season (May to October) is rough for swimming conditions, but a perfect time for surfers.
