BORACAY 2007

Digital Photographer Philippines magazine October issue came out featuring lots of good articles, and a 10-page feature of my team in ON ASSIGNMENT:BORACAY. I was sent to Boracay last August 2007 with 5 other talented photographers (Jay Jallorina, Joel Garcia, Basil Carating, Jose "Ka Pepe" de Luna, and our "chaperone" Nino Carandang of DPP) whom I have bonded with. And of course, the ever supportive Rhonson Ng ( https://pbase.com/rhonson_ng) tagged along to shoot his own spectacular images of Bora. Our assignment was to take photos of Boracay in our own DSLR cam and the Sony Ericssion K810i which they have provided for our use.

We were asked to bring jackets to prepare for the typhoon season (habagat). Heaven must have smiled down on us for we were offered beautiful sunny weather till we left. The magazine featured our adventures, a sidebar of helpful tips on how to shoot Bora from me and Ka Pepe de Luna, and the wonderful features of Sony Ericsson K810i. While the group went back to Manila after 4 days, Rhon and I stayed for 2 days more to experience parasailing (I brought my DSLR at the top!). We met up with fellow Dabawenyos and Nikki Honasan who now works for Mandala Spa. We were even treated to a glorious 2 and a half hours of massage and pampering!

Special thanks to DPP Magazine, SEAIR Dornier 32-seater which brought us to Kalibo, Aklan and Sony Ericsson for the experience. Out of the 20gb worth of images I took in Boracay, below are the favorites I have sorted out. Only two were published in the magazine. My other teammates contributed stunning images of their own. Overall, the experience was a pure thrill, and I wouldn't mind going back again and soak in the sun for hours.
