What happens when a yacht strays into the main Felixstowe shipping channel, and right into the path of the 294m, 55150 tonnage Maersk Dhaka container ship.
Whilst listening on my marine radio, I heard the pilot of the Maersk Dhaka ask for help as he was concerned that the yacht was in trouble, especially as the wind was blowing in excess of 30 knots, and the yacht was not getting out of his path. The Tug Melton was close by to help. There was also a Harwich Haven Pilot launch close by, who also came in to help escort the yacht out of the way!
