This is over-processed but I feel it is true to the feel of how the trees look

I don't like taking portraits with a single flash but it was a rare opportunity to take some pictures
of my friend Mandy. Many thanks to Lisa for being my assistant and helping keep the subject still!

Here,There And Everywhere
To lead a better life I need my love to be here...
Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with a wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that there's something there
There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there
I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share
Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there
I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care
But to love her is to need her everywhere
Knowing that love is to share
Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping I'm always there
To be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere

Blowin' Free
I thought I had a girl
And all because I seen her.
I thought I had a girl
And all because I seen her.
Her hair was golden brown (yes it was)
Blowin free like a cornfield.
She was far away
I found it hard to reach her.
She told me you can try
But its impossible to find her.
In my dreams everything was all right -
In your schemes you can only try.

Hopper
I only saw one of these, so I can't enter the Thursday challenge! LOL!
I was hoping to use the lyrics of the Free song 'Little Bit of Love', too!
Why IS the challenge mid-week when most of us are busy in the middle of the working week? Hmmm ...
Ruth & Russell
Ruth & Russell were the lovely couple for whom I shot some pictures of their blessing ceremony on Sunday.
I think I might be catching the wedding photography bug!

Seams Adjustment
I went to a WW2 re-enactment event today. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond my control I was limited to taking very few pictures.
Watching the film 'Battle of Britain' last night and taking in the scenes today made me realise firstly,
how close Britain came to being over-run by the Nazis in 1940. Only the bravery of the RAF with their Spitfires held the line.
And secondly, I realise how lucky I am not to have been called up to fight a war, and be left with the physical and mental
scars as a result. They were not a special generation but rather ordinary men and women called upon to do something special for us all.
I guess this picture celebrates the thought that with the distance of time, we can look back and enjoy some of the lighter moments of that period.
And that means freedom won through.
Serious? The hell I am!
Have a great weekend everyone! And don't get too serious until Monday!

Bev and Team!!
I stepped out of my comfort zone (I wasn't alone) to join Bev on a model shoot today at Southwold.
Thanks, Bev! It certainly made me realise how much work there is for the photographer in getting great portraits/glamour
shots - which you make look easy!

Suffolk Poppies
Back home after a day out shadowing Bev Harrison while she shot a wedding. It's intense, hard work!
There are a few more poppy fields around this year. They are so spectacular but it's getting hard to come up
with an original poppy shot!
After The Finish!
I had a wonderful day today taking part in a 33 mile charity cycling event through London and crossing
14 of the Thames bridges en route.
Many many thanks to all of my friends who have encouraged and supported me in achieving what is a first
(but hopefully not a last!) for me.
Special thanks to Ray, Gail and Mark for cheering me on the day and sharing a celebratory drink very shortly after this
shot was taken.

It's been a tough first day back at work today, which has led me to reflecting on life's bigger picture.
And like in this shot, it seems there are too many angles to make sense of right now.

Passion & Focus
Starting out on a new phase of one's life, it's inevitable that some experiences are positive and some...
well are 'learning opportunities'!
It was with a little uncertainty that I arranged this week away - what would I do with myself all week?
Shouldn't I be working instead?
The prospect of spending time with my furthest-flung daughter and the chance to recharge my batteries
made the decision easier in the end.
It seemed a great opportunity to revisit old haunts from holidays when the children were small and we came each year to Cornwall.
But also (surprise, surprise) I arranged to meet with Pbase friends, old and new. I had a super day out with
Ann,
Lee and Margaret - despite the fact that our Challenge theme was ignored by the Suffolk office of T.I.T.C. LOL!
But then I was also kindly invited over to see the famous Alstead-Mingay establishment.
Although I already knew Linda, I was a bit unsure about imposing myself on
Linda and
David who I had not met before.
But I needn't have worried! What wonderful conversationalists and hosts they are. I took to David immediately!
We covered all sorts of topics during our demolition of five bottles of wine (well, OK 4 and 3/4!)!
From Ukeleles to Asteroids; from Beatles songs to organic gardening!
I'm sure some of those empties were from their previous revelry but Linda won't have it!
I picked up many interesting points of debate and information before the (cough, cough) second glass caught up with me!
But what came across so strongly was their passion for life, their home, their garden, their animals,
their photography, the world at large and of course each other!
And they channel this through their ability to focus on their goals and on the here and now - something I so sadly lack.
I learned so much from these special people - but I need to act upon it!
David and Linda's passion and focus is warm and positive and genuine - unlike the more malicious way these
attributes are applied by the Cornish seagulls who attacked me and stole my Cornish Pasty yesterday! Look at the evil in their eyes in this pic!! LOL!
And finally .... I have no idea how Linda has managed to write her long, lucid, interesting PAD commenteries every day for so many years - I'm exhausted! (or maybe it's last night catching up with me? ...... )

Making Fronds Along The Way!
I'm on my journey to Cornwall today. After seeing my son in Bristol for lunch, it was
time to gloat on the Northbound holidaymakers queuing from Bridgwater upwards on the M5!
Then I got intentionally lost around Dartmoor and found some bluebell woods.
I am sitting on the top of Dartmoor uploading via mobile broadband modem - I still think that's pretty amazing!

Miss Bella A Go Go
Sunday Night and finally back home from a wonderful weekend in Dublin's fair city.
Many many thanks to Maire for being the perfect hostess, and ably supported by Mairead.
It was special to join good friends Nicky, Ann, Cathryn, Ray, Peter and Stuart (and wife Barbara) and
great to meet, for the first time, Barbara Heide and her friend Liza.
Sleep is creeping upon me, so I will get to processing, uploading, proper credits and links during the week.
Miss Bella A Go Go? Oh she's someone we bumped into on the train - a warm, gorgeous, bright, confident young woman.
Oh, and she happens to be a belly dancer and burlesque performance artist!

Early In The Mornin'
Just A Little Lovin’ sung by Dusty Springfield
(barry mann / cynthia weil)
Just a little lovin’
Early in the mornin’
Beats a cup of coffee
For starting off the day
Just a little lovin’
When the world is yawnin’
Makes you feel wake up feeling
Good things are coming your way
This old world
Wouldn’t be half as bad
It wouldn’t be half as sad
If each and everybody in it had, yeah
Just a little lovin’
Early in the mornin’
That little extra somethin’
To kinda see them through
Nothing turns the day on
Really gets it dawnin’
Like a little bit of lovin’
From some lovin’ someone like you

My Aunt's Hibiscus
My Aunt was 90 last Thursday. That's far from a Waine record - her own Aunt died within 6 weeks of 100!
The Hibiscus nearly didn't make it this far as it had appeared to be dead but my Aunt saw one tiny green shoot
and gave it one more chance. She obviously has green fingers judging by this spectacular bloom.

Old Sea Dog Discovers Treasure
Just back from an all too brief visit to friends near Bournemouth.
It was actually quite mild walking along the beach today - a pleasant change.
I have a v hectic week ahead so I may not get onto Pbase very much. I really do appreciate your comments.
But I apologise for not keeping up with returning the favour!
Have a good week everyone!

Ocean Village Lines and Reflections
Although Fibonacci is about numbers, it is my understanding that that sequence
of numbers when expressed as squares creates a spiral or nautilus-type pattern.
This is said to be the simple basis of artistic and photographic composition
because it is the pattern that best retains the attention of the eye and brain.
So in this picture, my eye is drawn to the quay wall then the boats followed by the buildings then
the reflection and around again.

Road Trip
Ten hours of driving for a three hour meeting today.
I stopped for a coffee/phone/email break this morning and it was so hot in the
car that I had to open the window!!
Five miles down the road I hit fog and snow!
Favourite personalised number plate today: 'M3EEE' ! ;0)
Still one hour from home - better hit the road again!

It Must Be Winter If London Has Snow!
There is a strong suspicion that the British media don't worry about bad weather until it affects London.
Then it's a NATIONAL crisis. I can hear tomorrow's news reports already 'Snow chaos', 'Britain in icey grip' etc etc !
Enjoy the snow everyone, wherever you are!
I'll be setting off early for a business meeting with a shovel on board!

Recorders Incorporated
Rose Atkinson is a member of an international recorder orchestra called Recorders Incorporated.
Tonight they performed at St. Peter's by the Waterfront in Ipswich.
They came from from all over the UK, Germany and the Netherlands and rehearsed in the venue prior to the concert.
The theme of their Concert was 'Something Old and Something New' They will be playing music by Brumel, Maute, Schnabel and Wylkinson.
Thanks for inviting me along, Rose. It was very enjoyable - I had not realised what an amazing range of sounds could be produced by such a simple instrument.
The whole concert was of a very high standard and showed how much hard work was put in by you all.
