20050822 Watch Out - There's a PADer about!

I spotted this one after posting yesterday.

I'm still not comfortable about this candid street photography business!

This one was about all I managed yesterday.

I think it's best to ask, then at least get a few reasonable picture even if I get refusals.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/320s f/8.0 at 24.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I'm with you and the others John. I just can't make my camera function in front of people when they are not aware there is a camera pointed at them. Almost an invasion of privacy, yet I love looking at the candids. Does that makes us voyouristic??

I like this. I have no problem with street pictures---I guess that is why I almost got arrested a few months back.

oh yes, it's very scary! I went into Stroud on market day and it was sooo much easier in a crowd, people were too busy shopping for bargains! I like the shadow in this.

I love the angle of this and the shadow. Really good.

She is wondering why you would want a shot of a sandwich board !! :>) The menu has made me hungry.

Hi John,
I also feel the same way that you do, I feel as if I am sneaking around shooting unsuspecting people. Anyway, great candid shot!

John...I have the same problem. When we were out on our PaD trip, we called taking candids "going Pepe" (after the pbaser Pepe who takes fantastic candids). I almost feel like I should ask for permission before taking their photographs, but then it wouldn't really be a candid then, would it? This is a great shot...keep 'em coming, and let me know how you get over feeling uncomfortable with it.

Nice candid. It is a little stranga at first ;)
