This Iron Age hill figure is amongst the oldest in Europe. Sitting on top of the Berkshire Downs between London and Bristol, it affords the perfect view of the Vale below that takes it's name - The Vale of The White Horse. It's a dramatic place and a dramatic piece of human art. For an important icon it's not very visible. Hence, it's incredibly difficult to photograph from the ground. I like this angle taken from the Woolstone-Longcot road.
