First light on the Ben Ohau Range, Canterbury

I was in a bit of a panic looking for a place to take sunrise pictures from and thought I had made my dash from where I had lain my sleeping bag a little bit late. When I eventually found this spot (in the Ben Ohau Conservation area on the road to Mount Cook) I had to wait a whole hour for anything to happen. My feet got a bit cold, and so did my nose.

So thats the trick... sleep on the job?..in the cold...and you will be presented with this hopefully.

Impressive capture John, lovely light and colours.
