Riverbed lupins, Mackenzie Country, Canterbury, New Zealand

About 10 minutes (in a car and not walking or by plane) out from Lake Tekapo on the Christchurch side the road crosses this river with a whole lot of lupins about 10 minutes (and walking again) upstream from the road. First of all there is an electric fence to get over. I have never felt inclined to see if it is 'live' or not.

You certainly picked the right day John. I was in Tekapo on Monday and it was wet and the cloud was so low you could not see your hand behind your back. A good year for Lupins.
