The Flume is a gorge in the side of the White Mountains. Cold mountain water pours down this gorge in a never ending stream. Temperature at the bottom of the gorge is about 10-15F cooler than the higher levels. Good thing, since the temperature that day was in the high 90's with humidity to match. This was a 2.5mi. hike which took us about 3 hrs. up and down some well travelled trails.
