Fonge

The Durham Dynamo 100 mile sportive passed through Weardale today. These pictures were taken on the climb up to the highest point of the ride at 50 miles on the Weardale/Teesdale border.
The bloke with the yellow shoulders is one of my oldest and best friends, we go back to 1971. He's always been a really good cyclist, a genuine nice guy and he's a long term cancer survivor.
He completed this very tough 100 in 6 hours 45min, third fastest in his age group - inspirational.
Just don't ask why he's called Fonge - I can't remember.

Great shots.
16 to 17 miles an hour for 100 miles that takes some doing on the flat let alone up those hills.

Thanks Guest, he hasn't had the CB900 since about 1982! After that he had a Ducati, followed by plastic cars (Lotuses.... Lotii?).
